The goal of The Family Security Plan® Critical Illness Insurance** is to help our members cope with and recover from the financial stress that accompanies a covered critical illness or condition. According to medical statistics, the outlook for survival from critical illnesses is encouraging, but the costs for these conditions could outstrip the coverage provided by a member's health plan. Critical Illness Insurance can help members cover indirect costs associated with a critical illness. Highlights Lump Sum Payment Policy pays a lump sum amount upon initial diagnosis of a covered illness or condition regardless of any other insurance the member has. Levels of Coverage from $5,000 - $50,000. Predictable Benefit Amount Since the benefit is a lump sum, the member knows exactly what to expect in the event they contract a covered critical illness. Benefit is paid directly to them. Known Timing of Benefit Benefit is paid upon first diagnosis. This provides the member choices with regard to their treatment modality. Family Coverage Available Convenience Premiums paid through payroll deduction. Automatic Enrollment in Best Doctors®	Covered Critical Illnesses Heart Attack Stroke Life Threatening Internal Cancer Kidney Failure ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Major Organ Transplant Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (25% of the maximum benefit) Carcinoma in Situ (25% of the maximum benefit) This is a Specified Disease Policy. Covered Critical Illnesses are defined in the policy and may vary by state.
